The CanWNT have kicked off the FIFA Series with a pair of wins, as they defeated the Korea Republic 3-1 in their second match of this tournament despite going down a player in the first half.
After opening the scoring through Evelyne Viens in the 23rd minute, Canada's Jade Rose was sent off for a last-ditch tackle minutes later, which allowed Korea to score an equalizer on the ensuing free kick, which was slotted home by Kim Shinji.
Despite that, though, Canada did well to respond in a big way in the second half, as Vanessa Gilles, who only came into the game after the red card, scored a pair of headers off set-pieces to secure a 3-1 win for her team.
