CanMNT head coach Jesse Marsch signs contract extension through 2030 FIFA World Cup
Canada Soccer is pleased to announce that Jesse Marsch has signed a four-year contract extension to remain head coach of Canada Soccer's Men's National Team (CANMNT) through the 2030 FIFA World Cup™.

Since taking over in 2024, Marsch has been instrumental in shaping the future direction of the Men's National Team through both cultural and competitive change and growth. During his time as head coach, CANMNT has defined itself as a team of intensity and ambition while simultaneously achieving recognition as a competitive team on the international level. On top of system and tactical development, Marsch has impacted the team extensively through personal relationships with players, broadening the player pool through dual-national recruitment, and contributing to the growth of Canadian soccer by embracing Canada itself.
On the pitch, Marsch's coaching led to a record of 12 wins, 12 draws and five losses scoring 37 goals and conceding 23 across his 29 games in charge of CANMNT. The team's most significant achievement under its leadership came at the 2024 Copa América, where Canada placed fourth in the program's debut in South America's premier international competition. The Men's National Team reached a program-record FIFA ranking of 26th in September 2025, climbing 24 places from 50th in just over a year and a half under Marsch.
Marsch's extension is indicative of Canada Soccer's long-term ambition for continuity, excellence, and sustained growth as the organization builds beyond the 2026 FIFA World Cup ™ and into the next chapter of Canadian soccer. The extension is majority funded by philanthropists from five Canadian families who have made significant commitments in support of the sustained progress of the Men's National Team and further investment into soccer in Canada.

Besides his work with CANMNT, Marsch has also shown a sincere dedication to the development of soccer national. During the winter of 2025, Marsch traveled across the country leading a coaching education tour involving countless soccer coaches and leaders in communities in Canada. His commitment to including Canadian coaches in his Men's National Team staff and engaging coaches across the Canadian Premier League has helped coaching in Canada reach new standards. Marsch's work with coaching education and youth projects will also continue during the extension period.
