Canadian Soccer Media & Entertainment Secures Multi-Year Canadian Media Rights to UEFA Women’s Champions League

Toronto, ON — March 24, 2026 — Canadian Soccer Media & Entertainment (CSME) today announced a new multi-year agreement with UC3 for the Canadian media rights to the UEFA Women’s Champions League, one of the world’s premier women’s club competitions. UC3 is the commercial entity that oversees the management, sales and delivery of all commercial rights for UEFA’s elite men’s and women’s club competitions.
The acquisition marks another milestone in CSME’s strategy to build a leading soccer media ecosystem — one that places Canadian players and stories at the centre of the global game, while connecting domestic and international competitions within a unified content hub for Canadian audiences.
“This agreement represents another step in the expansion of our premium soccer media rights portfolio,” said James Johnson, Group CEO, Canadian Soccer Media & Entertainment. “Our strategy is to bring together the best of Canadian and international soccer under one roof, while making Canadian players more visible and accessible to fans across the country. By aligning world-class competitions within a unified ecosystem, we’re not only increasing access to the game, we’re building a platform that puts Canadian players and stories at the centre of the global game.”
The agreement comes at a significant moment for Canadian talent on the global stage. Canadian players have featured across many of the tournament’s top clubs this season, including Olivia Smith (Arsenal), Vanessa Gilles (Bayern München), Kadeisha Buchanan (Chelsea), Jayde Riviere and Simi Awujo (Manchester United), Ashley Lawrence (OL Lyonnes), and Évelyne Viens (AS Roma). With Canadians represented at some of Europe’s most storied clubs, the competition provides a platform to showcase their growing impact on the European game.
Under the agreement, CSME will license the rights to OneSoccer, which will deliver coverage of the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the remainder of the 2025–26 campaign. Coverage will begin on Tuesday, March 24 with the quarter-finals, featuring four marquee matchups across Europe, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern München and OL Lyonnes, each with Canadian internationals set to play key roles on the global stage. It will spotlight Canadian players competing in Europe and connect their performances abroad with fans at home, reinforcing OneSoccer’s role as a year-round destination for soccer in Canada.
“We are excited to partner with Canadian Soccer Media & Entertainment to bring Europe’s premier women’s club competition to audiences in Canada,” Guy-Laurent, Co-Managing Director, UC3. “{With Canadian players featuring prominently across many of Europe’s leading clubs, this agreement is an important step in bringing the UEFA Women’s Champions League closer to Canadian fans, broadening the competition’s international reach, and inspiring even more people to follow and engage with the women’s game.”
With the addition of the UEFA Women’s Champions League to its existing properties — including Canada Soccer National Team matches, the Canadian Premier League, Concacaf competitions, the Bundesliga, and the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) — CSME continues to build a comprehensive soccer content offering that serves Canadian audiences year-round.
